San Angelo, Texas – The Adams State Grizzlies (4-3) rallied for a late 59-57 victory against the Angelo State Rams (2-1) in a hard-fought non-conference matchup Thursday afternoon.
Elaina Watson led the Grizzlies with 18 points, including a pair of critical free throws in the final quarter to secure the lead. Her defensive effort shone as well, with six steals and a crucial block. Kiiyani Anitielu contributed 13 points and was pivotal in maintaining the offensive rhythm with two assists. Despite shooting 32.8% from the field, Adams State capitalized on turnovers, scoring 26 points off 30 Angelo State miscues.
The game remained a neck-and-neck battle, featuring seven lead changes and four ties. Adams State's defense proved decisive in the final minutes, forcing key turnovers and limiting Angelo State's fast-break opportunities.
