Box Score CANYON, Texas — The Adams State Grizzlies dropped a tough nonconference game to the West Texas A&M Lady Buffs, 72-48, on Friday night at the First United Bank Center. Despite a strong defensive effort, the Grizzlies struggled offensively, falling to 4-5 on the season.
Adams State kept pace early, with guard Angelline Nageak connecting on a 3-pointer to spark the offense. The Grizzlies trailed 17-12 after the first quarter.
However, scoring woes plagued Adams State as the game progressed. The team shot 16% from beyond the arc in the first half, while West Texas A&M took advantage, pushing its lead to 31-23 by halftime.
West Texas A&M's Randi Harding led all scorers with 24 points and added four rebounds. The Lady Buffs extended their lead in the third quarter and outscored Adams State 24-11 in the fourth.
