SPEARFISH, S.D— The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships launched with vigor on day one.
In the women's 60m hurdles, Alena Chaney blazed her way into the final, displaying her prowess with a lightning-fast time of 8.79 seconds, securing her spot among the top contenders.
The 60m dash saw
Isila Apkup making her mark, sprinting her way into the final with an impressive time of 7.59 seconds.
Moving on to the 200m dash, Isila Akpup continued her impressive performance, clocking in at 25.05 seconds, while
Jada Miller joined her in the final with a time of 25.08 seconds, promising an exciting battle for the podium.
Avery Palmgreen showed her strength in the 400m, crossing the finish line with a time of 1:01.38.
Amalia Dorian demonstrated her endurance in the grueling 5000m race, securing an 8th place finish with a time of 17:43.89, showcasing her stamina and competitive spirit.
In the women's long jump, Alena Chaney showcased her skills, finishing 11th with a leap of 5.07 meters.
Elijah Hatcher led the charge for the men in the 400m, finishing 6th with a time of 50.47 seconds, while
Neveh Jones followed closely behind, securing a 10th place finish with a time of 51.28 seconds.
In the weight throw,
John Hochanadel displayed his strength and skill, finishing 13th with a throw of 15.94m, showcasing his prowess in the field events.
As day one of the RMAC Indoor Track & Field Championships came to a close, the athletes will be back on the track tomorrow to compete on Day Two of the RMAC championships with the first event kicking off at 12:00 p.m.
