ALAMOSA, Colo. -The weekend proved to be a challenging test for the Grizzlies as they dropped Saturday night's game against No. 10/19 Colorado School of Mines 117-87.
In their clash against Colorado School of Mines, the Grizzlies found themselves trailing significantly, with a halftime score of 61-35. Despite mounting a spirited comeback in the second quarter, where they managed to put up 49 points, it wasn't enough to overcome the deficit, and regulation ended with Colorado School of Mines emerging victorious.
Destan Willams and Austin Fadal led the Grizzlies' offensive efforts, contributing a combined total of 35 points, while Alexx Hurr added another 18 points coming off the bench. However, the team faced challenges on the offensive front early in the game, shooting just 41% from the field and a mere 10% from beyond the arc. Despite a marked improvement in the second half, with shooting percentages climbing to 70% from the floor and 37% from three-point range, the Grizzlies ultimately fell short.
Looking ahead, Adams State aims to bounce back next Friday as they hit the road to Las Vegas, New Mexico, where they will face off against New Mexico Highlands University in their next matchup.
