WBB | Dominguez named Second Team All-Region

LUBBOCK, Texas – Adams State University's Harmanie Dominguez continues to bring in the accolades as she was honored by the 2023-2024 Division II Conference Commissioners Association by being named to the Second Team of the All-South Central Region Women's Basketball Team as announced on Thursday. Voting for the award was conducted by NCAA Division II members of the College Sports Communicators (D2CSC).

Dominguez, already a first-team All-RMAC player, made history by becoming the Grizzlies' first All-Academic First Team member on Wednesday. Holding a 3.75 GPA in Kinesiology, the sophomore has shattered records this season, including single-game records for three-pointers (10) and points (37), along with establishing a new single-season record for the Grizzlies with 97 three-pointers. She joins a select group as only the second player in Adams State's DII history (1992-present) to surpass 500 points, currently ranking second on the all-time list with 528 points, just 49 points shy of the record.

Ashley Ingram of Texas Woman's University was selected as the South Central Region Most Outstanding Player. Ingram is on a Pioneers squad that is 29-4 this season and heading into the NCAA Division II South Central Regional with hosting privileges and as the No.1-seed for the first time in program history.  She leads the team with 18.1 points per game (second in the Lone Star Conference and fifth in the region) and 286 rebounds (third in the LSC and sixth the region) en route to claiming Lone Star Conference Player of the Year honors. The junior forward from Bridgeport, Texas ranks eighth nationally with 16 double-doubles. Ingram leads the nation in made free throws (218) and free-throw attempts (266), ranks third in field goal percentage (61.4%) and 18th in defensive rebounds per game (7.0).

Joining Ingram on the region's First Team is guard Ashley Steffeck of Colorado School of Mines and forwards Raiana Brown of Texas A&M International, Alisha Little of Colorado State Pueblo and Colorado Mesa's Olivia Reed.
The Second Team included guards Harmanie Dominguez of Adams State and Josey Ryan of Regis, forwards Grace Foster of Lubbock Christian and Colorado Christian's Maggie Hutka and post player Alexus Quaadman of University of Texas of the Permian Basin.

Adams State and the Grizzlies are the No. 5 seed in the South Central Region and take on No. 4 UTPB on Friday at 6:30 p.m. (MT).
