Salt Lake City, Utah — The Adams State men's soccer team dropped its Sunday matchup against Westminster, falling 4–0 at Dumke Field.
The Griffins struck early and often, scoring three goals in the first half to take control of the contest. Westminster opened the scoring in the fifth minute when Owen Gallo converted off a pass from Alejandro Puente. Less than seven minutes later, Jack Cardwell doubled the lead with help from James Miles, and Puente added a third in the 25th minute off assists from Kolson Helquist and Broc Underhill.
The Grizzlies limited the Griffins to just one goal in the second half, as Ben Kump found the back of the net in the 83rd minute to cap the scoring.
Joshua Kropf recorded one save in goal for Adams State, facing 16 total shots. Hayden Rogers tallied the Grizzlies' lone shot of the afternoon, while Jadon Fambro picked up a yellow card late in the first half.
With the result, Adams State moved to 1–9–1 overall and 0–5–0 in RMAC play, while Westminster improved to 5–4–2 (1–1–2 RMAC).
The Grizzlies return home next weekend to host CSU Pueblo on Thursday before hitting the road to play the University of Colorado Colorado Springs on Sunday.
