Adams State Men's Soccer Falls to UCCS 5-0

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado — On Sunday afternoon, the Grizzlies Men's Soccer team fell to the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs by a final score of 5-0. The loss drops the Grizzlies to a record of 1-11-1(0-6-0 RMAC). 

In today's match, the UCCS Mountain Lions took advantage of the poor defense by the Grizzlies to win by a large margin of 5-0. On the day, the Mountain Lions collected 39 shots, of which 13 were on goal. The two Grizzlies goalies, Josh Kropf, who started, and Lars Ostermann, who came off the bench, were able to save 8 of the 13 shots on goal by the Mountain Lions. On the day, Josh Kropf saved 4 shots out of the 7 he defended, whereas Lars Ostermann saved 3 shots out of the 5 he defended. Outside of the Grizzlies' goalies' play, Adams State struggled in today's match offensively and defensively.

Individually, Miles Seminario scored two goals for the Mountain Lions, while Caden Hickox, Kieron Richardson, and Cole Wearner all scored one goal. The Grizzlies were not able to secure a goal today, but they did have two shots, which were by Eric Kidson and Avery Richards. Unfortunately, neither shot was on goal today, but the two shots were the only offense the Grizzlies mustered up in today's match. 

Up next for the Grizzlies will be Colorado School of Mines at home in Alamosa, Colorado. The match against the Orediggers will be an opportunity for the Grizzlies to bounce back and get their second win of the season. As well, the match against the Orediggers will be the second-to-last home match for the Grizzlies, as they only have 4 more matches before the regular season for the Grizzlies will come to an end. Come out to support the Grizzlies against the Orediggers as the home match will be on Thursday, October 23rd, at 3 PM MST.
