Alamosa, Colo. – Adams State women's basketball moved to 2–1 on the season Friday night with a strong 79–62 win over Angelo State inside Plachy Hall.
The Grizzlies set the tone early, outscoring the Rambelles 22–10 in the first quarter and carrying a 48–26 lead into halftime behind aggressive defense and efficient scoring. Adams State forced 25 turnovers and converted them into 29 points, never trailing at any point in the game.
Kiiyani Anitielu paced the Grizzlies with a game-high 28 points, knocking down three 3-pointers and going a perfect 9-for-9 at the free-throw line. Taejhuan Hill added a dominant 20-point, 9-rebound performance in the paint, while Ashiian Hunter chipped in 17 points and three steals.
Adams State controlled the boards 42–47 and held Angelo State to 29 percent shooting from the field. The Grizzlies also tallied 17 steals, using defensive pressure to maintain a double-digit lead throughout the night.
With the victory, Adams State improves to 2–1 ahead of tomorrow's match-up against Eastern New Mexico University.
