Denver, Colo. – Adams State Cross Country capped a historic fall with major recognition as the RMAC announced its 2025 postseason awards, Wednesday The program swept the league's top honors, earning both RMAC Runners of the Year and the Men's Coach of the Year, and added 11 All-RMAC selections based on performances at the RMAC Championships.
The Grizzlies dominated the ballot-based awards, beginning with Kidus Begashaw, who was voted the Men's RMAC Runner of the Year after a breakthrough fall marked by a second place finish at the RMAC Championships and an Individual National Championship. On the women's side, Tristian Spence earned RMAC Runner of the Year, her second place finish at the RMAC Championship and wins at the Regional and National meets solidified her season.
Adams State's excellence extended beyond the athletes and into the coaching ranks, where Damon Martin was voted the Men's RMAC Coach of the Year.
That depth was further highlighted in the release of the All-RMAC teams, determined by finish order at the RMAC Championships. On the women's side, Spence was joined on the First Team by Maggie McCleskey, while Kiera Damron and Claragh Keane secured Second Team honors with strong championship performances. The men's squad packed the front of the field, placing Kidus Begashaw, Max Scherbarth, Max Aldrich, Julian Campos, and Jack Gumm on the First Team, while Housem Hrabi and David Millan earned Second Team recognition after key scoring efforts for the Grizzlies.
With postseason honors officially finalized, the awards haul underscores a fall defined by dominance, depth, and a championship-level standard that Adams State once again upheld. As cross country season closes, the Grizzlies carry significant momentum into the track and field campaigns ahead.
