New Orleans – Adams State's Tristian Spence was named the USTFCCCA Scholar Athlete of the Year for women's cross country, leading a standout academic year for the Grizzlies. The women's cross country team was recognized as an All-Academic Team, while 11 men's and women's cross country athletes earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors.
Spence was named the 2025 NCAA Division II Women's Cross Country National Scholar Athlete of the Year after maintaining a cumulative 3.29 GPA during a season in which she captured the individual title at the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships in Kenosha, Wisconsin. This award adds to the extensive recognition Spence has received after her breakout season.
Adams State posted a team-wide 3.46 GPA and placed fourth at the NCAA Division II National Championships to earn All-Academic Team recognition.
The Adams State women named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team were Tanya Bouet (business administration, M.B.A.), Keira Damron (elementary education), Clara Keddy (English), Maggie McCleskey (biology), Lea Navarro (interdisciplinary studies), Ava O'Connor (business administration, M.B.A.) and Tristian Spence (elementary education).
The men's honorees were Jack Gumm (business administration, M.B.A.), Housem Hrabi (kinesiology) and Danyom Yosief (business administration).
