Golden, Colo. – The Adams State Grizzlies battled through Day 2 of the 2025 RMAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Colorado School of Mines.
The day began at the discus rings, where Sam Dirkes earned a fourth-place finish with a throw of 47.84 meters. James Waddles placed ninth with a mark of 44.84 meters, recording three successful throws out of six attempts.
On the track, Isila Apkup advanced to Sunday's final in the women's 200-meter dash after placing seventh in the preliminaries with a time of 24.76 seconds. In the men's 200, Keirryse Simpson and Gavin Heyneman both qualified for the final. Simpson clocked a time of 21.28 seconds to secure the No. 3 seed, while Heyneman crossed the line in 21.48 seconds to earn the No. 8 seed.
In the 800-meter run preliminaries, Clara Keddy advanced to Day 3 with a fourth-place finish in 2:15.95. On the men's side, Oisin Lynch moved on after posting a time of 1:52.60 to claim the No. 7 seed.
In the 3,000-meter steeplechase finals, Marie Garrett, a freshman, finished seventh with a time of 11:15.25. On the men's side, David Millan and Tyman Smart captured seventh and eighth place, respectively, with times of 9:33.64 and 9:52.82. Micah Swann followed closely in ninth, also finishing in 9:52.82.
Action started for Day 3 at 9 a.m. on Sunday with the Women's Javelin.
