Laredo, Texas – The Adams State men's soccer team battled through 90 minutes of physical play on Sunday but came up short in a 6-0 setback against Texas A&M International at Dustdevil Field.
The Grizzlies (0-3) put together a stronger second half, generating both of their shot attempts after the break from forwards Kaidin Reese and Victor Quintana Antillon. Josh Kropf stepped in at goalkeeper for the final 45 minutes, collecting two saves and holding the Dustdevils to just two goals in the period after a busy opening frame.
Defensively, Jadon Fambro and Francesco Boscolo Moretto anchored the back line with full 90-minute efforts, while midfielders Jonathan Vazquez and Frankie Dufitumukiza provided energy off the bench to help limit TAMIU's chances in the second half.
Despite the score line, Adams State showed progress in possession and defensive shape, particularly after halftime when the Grizzlies kept the Dustdevils off the board for more than 20 minutes.
Adams State will return home on Thursday for a 3 p.m. game against Wayland Baptist after the women's teams face off at 12:30 p.m.
