Grizzlies Draw with Oklahoma Panhandle on Senior Day

Alamosa, Colo. – Adams State men's soccer battled to a 3-3 draw against Oklahoma Panhandle State on Sunday afternoon at ASU Soccer & Lacrosse Field, closing out Senior Day with an exciting, back-and-forth contest.

The Grizzlies (1-3-1) struck quickly after falling behind early, scoring three goals in the first half. Senior Eric Kidson netted a pair of goals in front of the home crowd, finding the back of the net in the 15th and 44th minutes. Avery Richards added the other tally in the 16th minute, assisted by Tobias Sereinig.

Oklahoma Panhandle (1-0-1) kept pace, equalizing late in the first half on Calum Murphy's second goal of the match. The Aggies then found the game-tying score in the 86th minute when Ayoup Bader converted to make it 3-3.

Goalkeeper Joshua Kropft made four saves across the full 90 minutes for Adams State, while Richards also tallied an assist to go along with his first-half goal.

Adams State honored its seniors before kickoff, celebrating the careers of 10 Grizzlies. Each has been an anchor for the program both on and off the field, and Sunday's match gave the Grizzlies a chance to recognize their contributions.

The Grizzlies return to action Wednesday when they open Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play hosting Colorado Mesa at home at 3 p.m.
