San Angelo, Texas – In the second match of the 2025 season, the Adams State women's volleyball team faced off against Angelo State on Friday. Despite closely contested second and third sets, Adams State fell in three sets, dropping their record to 1-1.
Senior Hadleigh Richardson led the Grizzlies with 12 kills, followed by senior Olivia Lunt with 9. The Grizzlies also had strong defensive performances, with freshman Ashlyn Jones recording 12 digs and junior Peyton Priddy adding 11 digs.
Although the Grizzlies lost the first set 25-13, they fought hard in the second set, exchanging points with the Rams until the Rams secured a 26-24 win. In the third set, the Grizzlies refused to go down without a fight, posting a hitting percentage of .343. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to overcome the Rams, who closed out the third set 25-23.
As a team, Adams State hit .243 with 39 kills, while the Rams posted a .377 hitting percentage with 47 kills. The Rams were led by Madi Parrish with 12 kills, followed by Alli Kirkpatrick with 10.
The Grizzlies will look to bounce back at 8 a.m. on Saturday against Arkansas-Monticello.
