Five in double figures as Adams State cruises to road win

Rapid City, S.D. – The Adams State women's basketball team continued its strong RMAC run with a dominant 101–74 road victory over South Dakota Mines on Saturday afternoon.

Adams State (13-5, 7-1 RMAC) set the tone early and never looked back, building a 22–15 advantage after the first quarter and holding the Hardrockers to nine points in the second quarter to take a 42–24 lead into halftime. The Grizzlies then blew the game open with a 31-point third quarter, shooting efficiently and using balanced scoring to pull away from South Dakota Mines (6-10, 4-4 RMAC).

Five Grizzlies scored in double figures, led by Kiiyani Anitielu, who finished with a game-high 22 points to go along with eight assists and five rebounds. Ashiian Hunter and Jada Price each added 18 points, while Elaina Watson contributed 11 points and six rebounds. Jaden Ferris provided a spark off the bench with 14 points in 14 minutes.

Adams State shot 47.7% from the field and knocked down four 3-pointers in the opening quarter to establish control early. The Grizzlies continued to apply pressure after halftime, outscoring South Dakota Mines 31–26 in the third quarter and 28–24 in the fourth.

The Grizzlies also controlled the glass, finishing with 39 rebounds, and forced 10 turnovers that led to transition scoring opportunities.

Adams State returns to action Thursday when it hosts CSU Pueblo at 5:30 p.m. in Plachy Hall.
