SPEARFISH, S.D. — Adams State women's soccer found the back of the net late Sunday afternoon but could not overcome a three-goal deficit, falling 3-1 to Black Hills State at the Black Hills Power Sports Complex. The loss moved the Grizzlies to 4-3-1 overall and 0-2 in RMAC play, while Black Hills State improved to 5-0-2 and 2-0 in conference action. 

Aja Lister provided the Grizzlies' goal in the 87th minute, scoring her first of the season off an assist from Lauren Ocampo. Lister led Adams State with three shots, placing all three on goal, while Denali Levin added two shots on frame. The Grizzlies finished with eight shots, including five on goal. 

Black Hills State opened the scoring in the 15th minute when Zoe Evans found the net off an assist from Bailey Smith. Adams State responded by creating several chances before halftime. Lister put a shot on frame in the 18th minute, while Levin and Lister each forced saves during the final two minutes of the half. The Yellow Jackets carried a 1-0 advantage into halftime. 

The Yellow Jackets extended the lead quickly after the break. Ally Boysen scored at 46:30 before Ivy Agee made it 3-0 in the 51st minute off an assist from Samantha Nunez. 

Adams State continued to press despite the deficit. The Grizzlies earned three second-half corner kicks and generated four shots after halftime. Levin put another attempt on goal in the 84th minute before Adams State broke through at 86:13. Ocampo set up Lister, who converted to cut the deficit to 3-1. 

Kena Keyes played all 90 minutes in goal for Adams State and recorded two saves. Black Hills State finished with a 13-8 advantage in shots, while both teams placed five attempts on goal. The Grizzlies held a 3-0 advantage in second-half corner kicks.
