WBB| Western State and Colorado State-Pueblo Preview

ALAMOSA, Colo. (December 17, 2015)—The Adams State University Grizzlies will resume Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) action this weekend, hitting the road on a two game away stretch against both Western State Colorado University and Colorado State University-Pueblo. The Grizzlies will square off against WSCU on Friday and CSU-Pueblo on Saturday. Both games are scheduled for 5:30 pm tip-offs.

Last Time Out
In their last court appearance, Adams (1-5, 0-3 in RMAC) lost to the Colorado School of Mines by a score of 78-62. Johnette Brown led the team offensively, pacing the team with 10 points. Lena Jaycox and Lauren McDonald each posted nine points, respectively.

About the Mountaineers
Currently Western State possesses a record of 3-2, 1-2 in RMAC play. Their last matchup, an away matchup against Western New Mexico University, witnessed the Mountaineers fall against the Mustangs by a 62-55 score. Sophomore guard Taylor Long led the team with 14 points scored and totaled three assists in the game. Look for the California native to be the centerpiece in Head Coach Van Girard's offensive plan against the Grizzlies. Throughout the season she has led the team with points scored per game with 16.8. Long is also the team's leading rebounder, posting 39 throughout five games this season. Without question, Long is the most vital player to the Mountaineer offensive attack.  Look for Western State to heavily rely on her offensive prowess to ensure a prospective victory against the Grizzlies.

About the Thunderwolves
With an 8-1 (3-0 RMAC) record, the Pack owns the best winning percentage in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. CSU-Pueblo have now won eight consecutive games and are currently ranked as the No. 19 team in the nation according to the NCAA Division II Media Poll. CSU-Pueblo's lone loss came against No.4 Lubbock Christian University in its season opener. The Pack currently have a 3-0 record at home, largely in thanks to a potent offensive attacked spear-headed by center Molly Rohrer and guard Tuilesiu Anderson. Anderson leads the team with 14.6 points scored per game.
