ALAMOSA, Colo. (February 18, 2015)—The Adams State University Grizzlies women's basketball team returns to action this weekend for two slated Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) bouts with the Regis University Rangers (Feb. 20) and the Metropolitan State University of Denver Roadrunners. Both games will be played at home from Plachy Hall and are scheduled for 5:30 tipoffs. Adams State has lost four consecutive RMAC games and look to rebound this weekend in their last scheduled home games of the season. Live stats, video, and audio will be made accessible for fans.
Saturday's game will serve as Senior Day for the program. A ceremony preceding tipoff is slated to recognize seniors

Brittney Whiteman.
Last Time OutIn their last matchup, the Grizzlies lost a highly contested game against RMAC rival, the Colorado State University-Pueblo ThunderWolves by a score of 68-54. Offensively the Grizzlies were led by both
Lena Jaycox and
Emilie Klint who each scored 11 points. CSU-Pueblo left Alamosa with the victory mainly in part to their effectiveness to successfully translate turnovers into baskets. The ThunderWolves scored 18 points off of turnovers—13 in the first half alone. Combined with an effective 58.3 percent shooting mark in the second half, the Grizzlies were unable to bridge the gap against the visiting ThunderWolves.
Meet the RangersThe last time these two teams were pitted against each other was in Denver, Colorado on Jan. 17. The Rangers were able to utilize the home court success and came out on top by a score of 76-53. Both Anderson and Klint led the Grizzlies with 13 points apiece. Adams State never led nor tied the game and trailed the Rangers by as many as 20 points. The Grizzlies shot at 28 percent compared to the Rangers' 43.1 percent. The leading scorer for the Rangers was guard Baylee Purdy who scored 14 points on 5-of-13 shooting from the field and shot 3-of-9 from beyond the three-point line. Look for the Rangers to lean on her shooting success again to ensure success.
Currently the Rangers' record on the season is 14-8 while being 10-8 in conference play. Regis has not been a successful squad on the road this year and currently hold a 4-6 record when playing as the visitor.
Meet the RoadrunnersIn the previous matchup between both squads (Jan. 16), the Grizzlies lost on the road by a score of 62-47. Offensively the Grizzlies were led by Anderson who scored seven points. The Grizzlies were relatively close until the closing minutes of the game when the Roadrunners utilized a 10-0 run to seal the game. The combo of Deni Jacobs and Emily Hartegan proved to test the Grizzlies continuously throughout the contest and accounted for 21 of their points scored.
Currently the Roadrunners hold a 13-9 record while being 10-8 in RMAC play. They are currently riding a two game winning streak but since their matchup with Adams, MSUD has lost five of their last eight games. Guard Deni Jacobs is the leading scorer on the season with 15.1ppg.
