RMAC Shootout CentralALAMOSA, Colo. (March 5, 2015) – After a quarterfinal win on Tuesday, Adams State University now preps for No. 21 University of Colorado at Colorado Springs in RMAC Shootout semifinal action on Friday evening from Denver. The Grizzlies enter the semifinal round after taking down tenth-ranked Colorado School of Mines on the road. The Mountain Lions remain active in bracket play by beating Colorado Mesa University on Tuesday.

(CET) will produce and broadcast the RMAC Shootout Men's Basketball semi-finals and finals on Friday, March 6 and Saturday March 7.

CET is available to XFINITY TV subscribers along the Colorado Front Range on XFINITY channel 105 and 900 (HD) including the cities of Denver, Colorado Springs and Pueblo.

Juwan Buchanan propelled ASU to a 94-91 quarterfinal win at Colorado Mines from Lockridge Arena in Golden. Hope tallied 19 points – 16 of which game in the first half. Buchanan finished with a game-high 24 points with 18 coming after halftime. The Grizzlies executed on offense to the tune of 54 percent shooting from the field, 52 percent from three, and 88 percent from the free throw line. These numbers were highlighted by 10-of-10 shooting from the line by Buchanan as
Mike Hemsley went 9-of-10. Hope knocked down five of his seven three's as
Shakir Smith went 3-of-6. Adams State led by as much as 17 and held off a Mines comeback in the closing minutes.
About The Mountain LionsLed by one of the RMAC's premiere players in junior guard Derrick White, UCCS holds a 24-5 overall record. Their 17-5 conference mark placed them as the third seed for tournament play. Ranked No. 21 in the latest NABC Coaches' top 25 poll, the Mountain Lions have won five of their last six games. The program earned a spot in the semifinals with an 82-71 win on Tuesday over Colorado Mesa. White's 24.6 points per game ranks second in the RMAC as the Mountain Lions post an average of 86.8 points per game. White also ranks second in assists (5.2 per game), first in steals (2.3 per game), and is third in blocked shots (1.9 per game). UCCS began the season 14-0 but the program has lost all five of their games since Jan. 10.
Last We MetFour ASU players finished in double figures during an 88-75 win over UCCS on Feb. 13. Within the confines of Plachy Hall, the Grizzlies shot 50 percent from the field and tallied 20 steals with Buchanan and Smith each collecting six steals apiece. The stout defense translated to a 25-13 edge in points off turnovers. The Grizzlies also limited White to 19 points. At the time, UCCS was ranked No. 15 in the country.
