Box Score DURANGO, Colo. (April 24,2015)—In the second-to-last game of the season for the Adams State University Grizzly Women's Lacrosse team, they took on the Fort Lewis College Skyhawks earlier today at Dennison Memorial Field in Durango. The game started forty-five minutes late, as there was a lightning delay.
The first half saw Fort Lewis go up by ten points over the Grizzlies as they dominated the half.
Kendra Cheda put Adams State in the board in the dying seconds of the first half as she found the net with just nine seconds left. The score was 10-1 heading into the second quarter.
To start the second half,
Qiana Barfield would score an early goal for the Grizzlies just two minutes into the half, to make the score 10-2.The Skyhawks would add two more to their lead before Cheda would would net her second goal of the game at 20:06 to bring the score to 12-3. However, Fort Lewis would then score two more.
Barfield would also get her second of the game at 12:02 to give Adams State their fourth goal of the game. The Skyhawks would add one more to make the score 15-4, before
Jessica Hammer netted her first of the game with 1:55 left to go. This would be ASU's last goal of the game, while Fort Lewis would add one more on to their lead to bring the final score to 16-5.
The Grizzlies will take on the Colorado Mesa University Mavericks in Gunnison at 1:00 pm on April 26
th. This will be the final game of the season for Adams State
