Last Time Out For Adams State
An early 14-0 lead in ASU's home opener didn't last as Eastern New Mexico University tied the game by the end of the first quarter. The tightly contested opening stanza provided ASU with a 21-20 edge going into halftime. However, momentum shifted to ENMU moving forward as the Greyhounds outscored the Grizzlies 24-9 in the second half. Junior quarterback Auston Hillman led the offensive unit that finished with 534 yards of total offense. Individually Hillman accounted for 363 all-purpose yards. The signal caller went 24-of-35 for 272 yards and two touchdowns. On the ground he added 91 yards rushing on 13 attempts.

Last We Met

Romero snagged a pair of touchdown receptions for 91 yards. Linebacker John Reed paced the defense with 7 tackles. All three of ASU's fourth quarter touchdown drives were 80 yards or longer and took less than three minutes on drive to reach paydirt.

Hall For Six!
Senior running back Rashad Hall notched his first ASU touchdown against Eastern New Mexico. The 6-foot-1 product out of Lynchburg, Va. had 17 carries for 82 yards and a touchdown against ENMU. He also had two receptions for 20 yards. For the season Hall has 103 yards rushing with a long of 44 yards.

New Year, New Gear
Unveiled for 2015 is a white matte finish helmet as well as a traditional green helmet that has been used in recent seasons. The biggest change comes in the form of the official Adams State U-Paw decal that is prominently displayed on both. Under the Schutt brand, both styles incorporate a green facemask with "Grizz" written on the nose bumper. Adams State last wore white helmets during the 1970's before switching to green.

Both helmets not only incorporate a new style but an upgrade in student-athlete safety by switching to the Schutt Vengeance VTD II and Schutt AiR XP Pro VTD helmet models. Both models have been evaluated and given the highest rating possible (5-Stars) according to Virginia Tech helmet ratings.
