ALAMOSA, Colo. –(September 25, 2015)—The Adams State University Grizzlies women's volleyball team lost
tonight at home in their Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) matchup against the Metropolitan State University Roadrunners in four sets. With
tonight's results, the Grizzlies fall to 2-9, 1-2 in RMAC play.
In
tonight's match, Metro State won via set scores of 25-17, 25-19, and 25-23. While the third set proved to be tightly contested, Metro State was in complete control for most of the match. The offensive efforts of outside hitter Michaela Smith for the Roadrunners proved to be pivotal in
tonight's victory. Smith accounted for 11 kills in the MSU victory and pestered the Grizzlies defensive front all night long. Smith also proved to be just as solid defensively, as her back-to-back blocks at the end of the third set assisted in the Roadrunner comeback.
For the Grizzlies,
Mallory Grimsrud led the team offensively with nine kills with a hitting efficiency of .174.
Katelyn Schwartz led the team with 16 assists while
Allie Miller chipped in 10 digs in
tonight's affair.
The Grizzlies will host the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs
tomorrow at
