VB| Adams Avoids Upset Hungry New Mexico Highlands

ALAMOSA, Colo. (October 29th, 2016) --- The volleyball team seemed all but doomed before rallying to a 3-2 win in 5 sets over New Mexico Highlands.

The upset seemed to be certain for 3rd to last ranked team in the RMAC tonight. Everything seemed to go right for the Cowgirls who surged to a 2 set lead at the break, winning 25-17 and 25-23. The Grizzlies would dominate in the 3rd and 4th, winning 25-15 and 25-16, forcing a 5th set. In the final set, Adams jumped to a 5-1 lead on their way to a 15-10 victory.

Hannah Atkinson led both teams with 16 kills. Briannah Mariner added 8 blocks on the night.

The Grizzlies improve to 14-9 (9-5 RMAC) on the year. The Cowgirls drop to 5-14 (2-12 RMAC).

The team returns to Plachy Hall for their next game against Colorado School of Mines on November 4th at 7:00pm.
