ALAMOSA, Colo. (November 4
th, 2016) --- The Grizzly volleyball team fought hard tonight, but ultimately fell victim to #22 Colorado Mines 3-1.
The Orediggers jumped out to a quick 6-1 lead in the first set on their way to a 25-18 win. A very hard fought second set went in to extra points when
Rachael Ringler scored to put the Grizzlies up 25-24. Needing to win the set by 2, the teams went back and forth all the way to 31, when CSM hit an ace to finish the set 31-29 and take a 2-0 lead into the break. Adams State refused to be swept in the third, pulling out a 25-20 victory. In the fourth set, the Orediggers were too strong and came away with the 25-17 win to end the game.
Mallory Grimsrud led both teams with 16 kills while
Savannah Smith added 16 digs.
The loss drops Adams to 14-10 on the year. The #22 Orediggers improve to 19-5.
The Grizzlies return to action at home tomorrow at 7:00pm against Colorado Christian. Tomorrow's game will serve as the team's senior night.
