ALAMOSA, Colo. (January 25, 2017) – Adams State University takes their five-game win streak to Golden on Saturday as the Grizzlies face No. 22 Colorado School of Mines. Tip-off is scheduled for 7pm from Lockridge Arena.
The matchup will pit two RMAC schools riding sizable winning streaks. The Orediggers enter the game on a 10-game streak as the Grizzlies have won their last five.

Last Time Out
The Grizzlies went 2-0 last weekend against Chadron State College and Regis University from Plachy Hall Gym. The weekend sweep pushed ASU to 10-10 overall and 7-7 in RMAC play. The wins improved the program's home record to 6-3. With a win on Saturday against Colorado Mines the Grizzlies will have their longest win streak (6 games) since the 2014-15 season. In four of their five consecutive wins, the Grizzlies have won by a combined 8 points.
Chadron State College
A sluggish start was bookended with an entertaining finish as Adams State University downed Chadron State, 80-65, on Jan. 20
th. The Eagles began the game on a 7-0 run as the Grizzlies went cold; missing their initial five field goal attempts coupled with a pair of turnovers. A
Brandon Pasker layup at the 16:28 mark ended ASU's drought but the Grizzlies sunk into a 12-4 deficit by the first media timeout.
A 10-0 ASU run out of the media break gave the Grizzlies their first lead of the game. The ASU bench led the resurgence by accounting for 22 of the team's 35 first half points. The strong bench performance propelled the Grizzlies to a 35-31 halftime lead. The Grizzlies maintained their lead for the remainder of the game but separated themselves in the final ten minutes. Brandon Sly. The junior added a game-high 7 assists along with 4 rebounds.

Kevin Dorsey contributing 10.
Regis University
The following night against Regis,
Dorsey played the role of hero by sinking a buzzer-beating three-pointer to lift Adams State to a wild 77-76 victory. With 4.1 seconds left a
Johnson in-bound pass deflected off a Regis defender and straight into Dorsey's hands. The senior guard took a dribble to his left followed by a pump fake before releasing the ball from the left wing. The last-second shot rattled around the rim and fell through the nylon as the red backboard lights flashed. Dorsey was immediately mobbed by his teammates along with fans who stormed the court. In the win, Pasker had a team-high 17 points and 9 rebounds. Johnson added 13 points as Dorsey and
Szymon Walczak each posted 10. Dorsey shot 4-of-6 on Saturday en route to his second consecutive double digit performance.

Scouting The Orediggers
Colorado School of Mines enters Saturday on a 10-game win streak thanks to their 76-75 road win on Jan. 24
th at Colorado Christian University. The Orediggers are 8-1 when playing in Lockridge Arena with the lone defeat coming on Nov. 25
th against Wayland Baptist University, 78-76. The program owns the conference's best defense by allowing an average of 64.6 points per game. Colorado Mines ranks second to Fort Lewis in scoring margin. Gokul Natesan leads the team with 18.9 points per game. Luke Schroepfer and Caleb Waitsman average 14.3 and 10.2 points per game, respectively. The Orediggers are under the direction of Head Coach Pryor Orser who is in his 16
th season at the helm.
Last We Met
The Grizzlies went 0-3 last season against the Orediggers. Adams State dropped an 83-61 decision at home on 12/12/15 followed by an 85-71 road game on 1/8/16. The Grizzlies ended their season with a 78-69 setback to the Orediggers in the first round of the RMAC Championships.
