KANSAS CITY, Mo. (March 23rd, 2017) --- The Adams State women's lacrosse team wrapped up their sixth of seventh game of their road trip in Kansas City this evening with a 16-3 loss.

The Hawks (4-4) got off to a hot 8-0 run in the first half to take an eight point halftime lead. It would be the Grizzlies (0-5) who would strike first in the opening seconds of the second half.
Jessica Hammer got Adams on the board with her third goal of the season with 29:12 remaining in the game. Rockhurst would score a minute later, but would again be answered, this time by
Mireya Castro. A few minutes later, Tessa Boots scored for the Hawks only to be matched by
Cera Cyester. From there, Rockhurst went on a 6-0 run to close out the game and wrap up their victory.

The Grizzlies had a solid performance from freshman,
Mireya Castro who recorded two draw controls, two caused turnovers, and one goal.
Jessica Hammer was also key for the Grizzlies with seven draw controls, one goal, and one caused turnover. Defensively Adams State had seven saves and forced 16 turnovers. The Grizzlies also won the battle for draw controls 14-6.

The team makes wraps up the long road trip this Saturday at Oklahoma Baptist at 3:00PM Mountain Time. The long awaited long awaited home debut is scheduled for March 31
