Alamosa, Colorado– The Adams State University women's basketball team (3-9, 1-9 RMAC) will make the long trip to the top of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference in South Dakota this weekend with Friday's 5:30 pm game versus South Dakota Mines and a Saturday matchup with Black Hills State at 4:00 pm.

Recently In Adams State Women's Basketball:
The women are 1-3 in their last three contests at home, including a four-point loss to Colorado Christian that may have been decided before it was contested with a technical foul assessed for game operations. Their win came against Chadron State College, followed by an eight point loss to UCCS. Stephanie Ruiz has scored at least 16 points in her last four games, including three 20 point games. During that stretch she scored (78) just five points less than the two-weeks in a row RMAC Offensive Player of the Week Vivian Gray of Fort Lewis (83 points).

About South Dakota School of Mines:
The Hardrockers are 10-5 overall with a 5-4 conference record, tied with four teams for the sixth spot in conference. All of the team's conference losses have come to Front Range teams (Regis, Colorado Mines, MSU-Denver, CSU-Pueblo). The women are led by Sami Steffeck and Anna Haugen, both of which are averaging nearly 11 points per game. Steffeck leads the conference in 3-point field goal percentage, shooting nearly 47 percent from beyond the arc.
