SB | Adams Opens Conference Play

DENVER - The Adams State University softball team will be heading to Denver this weekend to take on the Regis Rangers. The matchup will be the first Rocky Mountain conference meeting of the season.

Previewing the Grizzlies: The Grizzlies came away with two wins in five games last weekend in San Angelo, Texas. The Grizzlies went 1-1 against both Florida Tech University and Texas A&M International University while also losing a matchup with No.2-ranked Angelo State. Adams State's offensive attack is lead by Shelby Haskins (.471 Avg.), Taya McWilliams (.333 Avg.), and Kaytlynn Johnson (.321 Avg.). Senior starting pitcher, Whitney Fields, leads the Grizzlies in strikeouts with eighteen and in wins with three. The Grizzlies are currently 3-7 in non-conference play.

Previewing the Rangers: The Rangers have struggled to start the season with a 1-7 record. The offense is lead by Analeza Apodaca (.478 Avg.), and Logan Losh (.357 Avg.). Last season, the Rangers took three out of four games from Adams State during their conference series.

Adams State and Regis University will play two double-headers on Saturday and Sunday at 12 PM and 2 PM. The series will take place in Denver, Colorado.
