SB | Grizzlies Set to Face off Against the Orediggers

GOLDEN, Colo. – The Adams State University Softball team is set for a doubleheader against Colorado School of Mines on Friday and Saturday. The series starts on Friday with games at noon and 2 p.m. Saturday's games start a bit earlier at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday's games will be broadcasted on KSPK radio.

The Grizzlies hold a record of 11-19 with an even 8-8 record in the RMAC and a streak of winning seven of their last 10 games. The Grizzlies currently sit in fifth place in the RMAC standings, just behind MSU-Denver. Adams State is coming off a four-game series split against Fort Lewis College last weekend.

Adams has six players batting over .300 this season. Tyler Hays leads the team in hits, triples, homeruns, and RBIs with a .400 batting average. She is tied for first in the RMAC with 11 homeruns and four triples.

Kacee Schroeder is leading the pitching unit with an ERA of 5.25, while Whitney Fields leads the Grizzlies with 48 strikeouts. Schroeder is not far behind Fields at 45 strikeouts, including a career-high 11 in a game last weekend against Fort Lewis

Colorado School of Mines is 15-17 overall and 9-11 in the RMAC, good for seventh place in the RMAC standings. Unlike the Grizzlies, the Orediggers are in a bit of a slump losing seven of their last 10 games. Mines will look to bounce back after four straight losses to the top ranked team in the nation in Colorado Mesa last weekend.
