ALAMOSA – Adams State University women's lacrosse team will face No.11-ranked Regis University Saturday at noon in Alamosa for the team's annual Headstrong Foundation game and senior day. Adams is coming off of a pair of wins against Oklahoma Baptist University and Johnson and Wales.

Saturday's game will mark the annual Headstrong game. Proceeds from gate and donations will go to the Headstrong Foundation, a lacrosse driven cancer foundation that has raised more than $10,000,000 and helped nearly 15,000 cancer patients.

The Grizzlies are making moves this season, capitalizing with the first RMAC Player of the Week in program's history with
Jessica Hammer. Hammer was named the Defensive Player of the Week after putting up six goals and setting a school record in single-game ground balls with a dozen against Johnson and Wales.

Four Grizzlies have provided strong offense this season, led by
Cera Cyester. She leads the team in both goals and assists, having put 15 in the back of the net and dropped off four dimes to her teammates. She is joined by
Jessica Hammer and
Savannah Penland with 14 goals this season, while
Samantha Hammer rounds out the grouping with 10 goals.

Defensively, Jessica leads the way with 18 caused turnovers, 35 draw controls and 35 ground balls. She leads the team with eight more ground balls, 21 more draw controls and four more ground balls. Right behind her is goalie
Alexis Wellong with 31 ground balls this season. She also has 105 saves this season and is averaging more than 10 saves per game.
