ALAMOSA – Adams State University women's softball team will look to close out final home series against Chadron State College on top this weekend. The games are slated to start at noon on Saturday and 11 a.m. on Sunday.

This is an important series for Adams State, as the Grizzlies sit in the final spot to qualify for the RMAC Tournament. With a 10-18 record in conference, Adams has a single loss less than Chadron who is 10-19 and nearly tied with CSU-Pueblo at 11-21 in conference win percentage. A sweep may be crucial for Adams as the team takes on MSU-Denver for the regular season final series who is fourth in the conference. Chadron closes the season against Fort Lewis while CSU-Pueblo takes on top-ranked Colorado Mesa.

The Grizzlies are led by
Tyler Hays who is batting .382 this season with 47 hits. She leads the team with 32 RBIs, 13 home runs, four triples and 11 doubles. Right behind her in the team standings is
Shelby Haskins, who is hitting .330 with 13 RBIs and a team-high 22 walks.

Adams has had a tough stretch of games, losing seven straight against UCCS and Colorado Christian. They are 4-13 in the last 17 games after winning six straight in the middle part of March. Adams is 7-9 at home this season and looks to close that gap with wins this weekend.

In the circle this weekend, three seniors will throw their final pitches at home.
Kacee Schroeder leads the team wit ha 4.77 ERA, while
Whitney Fields has a team-high six wins.
Madisen Vrabel will also make her final appearance.
