Tip-Off
• The Grizzlies enter this weekend with a 1-12 overall record and are 1-8 against RMAC opponents. They have dropped their last 10 game sand will look to snap their skid as they close out their home stint against Colorado Mesa and Western Colorado.
• Adams State is 1-5 at home this season. Their lone home win also came against a conference opponent in Fort Lewis College. Adams State defeated Fort Lewis 65-63 back on Dec. 1, 2018.
• After closing out their four-game homestand, the Grizzlies will hit the road for the next four games. They get the road trip going at Colorado Christian on Friday, Jan. 25.
Adams State Breakdown
• The Grizzlies enter the weekend averaging of 54.5 points scored per game. They average a 36.6 shooting percentage from the floor overall and are 24.8% shooting team from three-point range.
• On the defensive end, Adams State is giving up 66.2 points to opponents on 41.5% shooting for the field overall. From beyond the arc, opponents are averaging 33.5%.
• The Grizzlies are still one of the top teams in the RMAC in free throw percentage. They are shooting 72.8% from the charity strip on 142-195 made shots and are third highest in the RMAC.

Stephanie Ruiz still leads Adams State in scoring with 13.6 points per game on 38.5% shooting. Her scoring average is 10th highest in the RMAC while her percentage is ninth.

Ki'asha Harris is still the leading rebounder with an average of 5.6 boards per contest, which ranks tied for 20th in the RMAC.
• Harris is the conference leader in free throw percentage at 89.5% and ranks 15th in Division II. In 13 games played she has hit 34-38 free throw attempts this season.
• Guards
Brooke Neal and
Marshell Hollins are second and third, respectively, in rebounding for Adams State. Neal pulls down an average of 4.5 boards per contest, while Hollins averages 3.7 per game.
• Hollins is the offensive facilitator for the Grizzlies through 13 games as she averages 2.2 assists per contest. She has 29 total for the season entering this weekend.
• Hollins and Neal are tied for the team lead in steals with an average of 1.4 per game, respectively. Both have 18 steals overall and are tied for 16th in the RMAC in average.
• Both
Maddie Dorris and
Lowendie Laporal continue to be the rim protectors for the Grizzlies as both are averaging 0.6 swats per contest. Laporal has eight total blocks, while Dorris has seven.
Scouting Colorado Mesa
• The Mavericks are 12-1 overall and 9-0 in RMAC play entering this weekend. They are tied for the conference lead and have won their last 11 games entering the weekend. In true road game they are 5-0 this season.
• Entering this week, the Mavericks are ranked No. 23 in the latest Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Top-25 poll. In the D2SIDA media poll they are ranked No. 19.
• CMU is averaging 66.5 points per game on 41.0% shooting from the floor. They average a 34.3 shooting percentage from three-point range.
• Defensively, the Mavericks are the top team in RMAC as they hold opponents to 51.4 points per game on 34.2% shooting. Both marks lead the RMAC in lowest average per game.
• CMU is also ranked top five in the conference in free throw percentage averaging 71.4% at the line which is tied for fourth.
• Only one player is averaging double figure points for the Mavericks in Jaylyn Duran. She is the RMAC leader as well with an average of 22.2 points per game on 44.7% shooting. Her percentage is sixth best in the conference. Her scoring average is 12th best in all over Division II.
• Kylyn Rigsby is the second leading scorer at an even 9.0 points per game. Karina Brandon is third at 7.3 points per game.
• Sydni Brandon is the top rebounder for CMU with an average of 7.0 boards per game. She sits 10th in the RMAC with her average. Karina Brandon is second in rebounding at 5.3.
• Sydni Brandon also leads the Mavericks in assists and is one the RMAC leaders. She averages 4.5 per game and is fourth in the conference with her average. Rigsby is second averaging 2.5 assists per game.
• Syndi and Karina Brandon are the leaders in steals with averages of 2.1 and 1.6 per game, respectively. Sydni is second best in the RMAC at 2.1, while Karina is tied for 13th at 1.6.
• Kelsey Siemons is the rim protector with 18 total blocks on the season and an average of 1.4 per game. Her average ranks second in the conference.
• Duran is also the team leader in free throw percentage at 83.7% which is fifth best in the RMAC.
Scouting Western Colorado
• The Mountaineers are 10-3 overall and have a 6-3 mark against RMAC opponents. They have won their last three games and are 4-0 in true road games this season. They are tied for third in the conference standings.
• Offensively, Western Colorado averages 62.9 points per game on a 43.5 shooting percentage. They shoot 37.3% from beyond the arc.
• On the defensive end, the Mountaineers are second best in points allowed behind CMU. They allow just 53.6 points per game on 34.3% shooting. Their field goal percentage is also tied for the RMAC lead with CMU.
• Two players average double figures for Western Colorado in Samantha Coleman and Katie Dalton. Coleman is the top scorer at 12.1 points per game, while Dalton is second at 10.4 points per contest.
• Tammarrah Gothard is the leading rebounder with 87 total and averaging 6.7 per game. Her average is tied for 13th in the conference.
• Gothard also guides the offense as she leads the team in assists. She has tallied 62 total in 13 games played and averages 4.8 per game which is second best in the RMAC.
• Dalton protects the paint for the Mountaineers with 11 total blocks in 12 games played. She averages 0.9 per game.
• Gothard also has the most steals for Western Colorado with 39. She averages an even 3.0 per game which is the best mark in the conference.
