ALAMOSA, Colo. – The Adams State Women's Volleyball team takes on two Denver foes for their homecoming games this weekend. The Grizzlies are moving in to the weekend from a loss this week in Durango Colo.
Adams State's attack is currently being led by three Grizzlies each with over 100 kills.
Hannah Goddard is taking leading with 154 kills,
Riley Oglevie is following with 129, and
Shannon Mulkey with 125 kills.
Bailey Schlosser is not only leading the Grizzlies, but is number 10 in the RMAC with her 394 assists. Schlosser is not the only Adams State player mentioned within RMAC statistics.
Mackenzie Swanson and
Alexandra MacAskill are both leaders in service aces. Swanson is ranked number 2 with her 25 aces of her 60 sets played, with a .42 ace average. MacAskill is in 5 with 16 aces in her 39 sets played, averaging a .41.
Scouting Regis
The Rangers are coming in to the weekend currently ranked #1 in the RMAC standings, 14-3 overall and 8-1 in RMAC. Earlier in the season, Regis University fell to MSU-Denver 3-1, same as the Grizzlies. The Rangers are entering the weekend on a five-game win streak, most recently defeating Western Colorado and Colorado Mesa University. Rangers to look out for are Nikki Kennedy with 171 kills, Kelsey Green with 158, and Caitlyn Burroway with 144. Defensively, Burroway is leading the Rangers with 192 digs, followed by Mara LeGrand with 144 and Sophie Griese with 105.
The Rangers have had good success against the Grizzlies in the past, winning the last five games by a 3-0 margin. Historically, Adams State is 3-7 against the Regis Rangers. The Grizzlies are looking at a competitive game ahead of them, on Friday at 7 p.m. in Plachy Hall.
Keeping an Eye on the Cougars
Colorado Christian in moving in to the weekend 6-11 overall and 2-7 in RMAC play. The Cougars are moving in to the weekend taking a couple of losses from Colorado Mesa and Western Colorado. The Cougars are looking to Cali Bahnsen, with 177 kills to lead their attack. Also leading the Cougar attack Ashley Drye with 140 kills, and Kristy Dick with 112. The Cougars have the second ranked setter in the RMAC, Maddie Burns with 469 assists.
Historically, the Grizzlies are 7-8 with Colorado Christian. The Cougars have had a great deal of success against the Grizzlies in the past three years. Colorado Christian has taken the last five games from the Grizzlies. Adams State is looking to move in to Saturday with some hometown momentum at 7 p.m. in Plachy Hall.

The Grizzlies will take a long road trip to South Dakota next week to take on Black Hills State and South Dakota School of Mines.
