ALAMOSA, Colo. – Adams State Softball hits the road again heading to St. George, UT. The Grizzlies will have a four game set this weekend against Colorado Christian and Dixie State. These four games will kick off conference play for the Grizzlies.

• The Grizzlies continue hunting for a win as they head in to RMAC play against the Colorado Christian Cougars and the Dixie State Trailblazers.
• It will be another four-game series for the weekend with double headers on both Saturday and Sunday.
• The Grizzlies will face the Cougars in the circle Saturday at 12 p.m. then the Trailblazers at 2 p.m. Sunday's games will follow the same order, Colorado Christian first at 11 a.m. then Dixie State at 1 p.m.

• Adams State will have their first homestand of the season March 2-3 against Fort Lewis College.

• The Grizzlies scored 11 runs on the weekend against the Regis Rangers. Adams State went 0-3 on the weekend, playing a close final game of the series.

• The pitching continues to stay in the hands of three Grizzlies.
Brittany Phillips leads Adams State with 24.2 innings pitched followed by
Taylor Sandoval and
Jade Garbiso each with 19.2 innings.
• Garbiso leads the Grizzlies in strikeouts with 11. Phillips is not far behind, with 9.
On the Road Again
• Adams State concludes their 17-game road trip this weekend with four in St. George, UT.
Scouting Colorado Christian
• The Cougars are coming in to the match up 6-5 overall, with a three game win streak over Oklahoma Baptist, Southwestern Oklahoma State, and Northwestern Oklahoma State.
• Caitlin McCarthy is one to watch for the Cougars. McCarthy is batting .621 with 13 RBIs, two homeruns and 18 hits.
• The Cougars pitching has been led by Kenzie Mattey with 41.1 innings pitched with a 2.7 ERA.
Scouting Dixie State
• Dixie State in entering the weekend 6-1, also with a three game win streak over Western Washington and Northwest Nazarene. The Trailblazers have had their seven games of the 2019 Dixie Classic cancelled due to inclement weather.
• Leading the offense for the Trailblazers is Mallory Eldredge batting .500 with 9 hits and five RBIs. Kori Gahn is another to look out for, with 12 RBIs and 9 hits, Gahn is batting .375.
• In the circle, Cambrie Hazel and Carissa Burgess are leading the Trailblazers. Hazel has pitched 20.1 innings, with a 2.75 ERA. Burgess has a 1.91 ERA in 18.1 innings, only allowing 8 runs.
