ALAMOSA, Colo. - The Adams State Women's Lacrosse team is back in action this weekend after a midweek tilt in Pueblo, Colo. The Grizzlies open up the home slate of their 2019 schedule with a non-conference bout.

Opening Draw
• Adams State enter the weekend with a 0-2 overall record following a 25-1 season opening loss to Concordia, St. Paul earlier this week.
• The Grizzlies two games were both non-conference bouts with one being a true road game while the other was a neutral site match-up.
• Adams State will hit the road for its next four games following its 2019 home opener against Notre Dame College (Ohio).

What to Watch For
• Two games and the Grizzlies have still yet to make it clear who will be a determining factor on both side of the ball.

Savannah Penland will once again look to be the leader on offense once again as she returns as the team's leading scorer from a season ago.
• Fellow junior
Madison Gerchow is tied with Penland as the team leader in goals scored and will also look to add depth to the Grizzlies offense.
• In net,Â
Louisa Sanchez already has started the last two games for Adams State. She has 23 saves on the season in two games started.
• Sanchez also leads the team in groundball pickups with six. Penland, Gerchow, and
Alexis Wellong are tied for second all with three apiece.

Hannah Vigil leads the defense in caused turnovers with three.
Emily Motz and Sanchez are right behind her with two, respectively..
• Gerchow will look to facilitate the offense with her draw control game. She leads the team with nine in two games started.
Scouting Notre Dame
• The Falcons are off to a 1-0 start to the 2019 campaign after a 18-11 win at Ashland back on Feb. 23.
• Leslie Diaz is the team's leading scorer to start the year with seven points on a team-high six goals and one assist.
• Selena Carter is second in points with four goals and a team-high two assists. Three other players are tied for third in scoring with three points.
• McKenzie Shean has been a factor on defense with seven groundball pickups already to go along with a caused turnover.
• Three players all have a pair of caused turnovers to help on defense in Diaz, Abigail Piewes, and Katie Wendell.
• Diaz also has the most draw controls for Notre Dame with four to start the season.
• Shean got the start in net in the season opener and picked up the win as well. She notched 10 saves in the win for the Falcons.
• Ellejanna Cicione also saw time in net in the season opener and tallied five saves.
