Grizzlies Take on Tripleheader in Denver Due to Weather

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 DENVER, Colo. – Adams State Softball batted it out with the Regis Rangers in Denver, Colorado Saturday, Feb. 22. Due to inclement weather forecasts, the originally scheduled two games was shifted to three innings. Sunday's game time is to be determined. The Grizzlies go 0-3 in today's tripleheader at Regis.
 
Game One
Adams State fell in a tough five inning game one, 11-2. The Rangers earned a quick 0-3 lead in the bottom of the first from three singles and a throwing error by the Grizzlies. After a scoreless second inning, the Grizzlies added their first hit from a single through the right side by Kylea Wall.
 
Regis added their fourth run in the bottom of the third. With two outs the Rangers tripled to right center and brought in their fourth run. Adams State got on the board in the top of the fourth. Jasmine Parker hit a leadoff single followed by a single by Tyler Hays. With one out, Shelby Haskins singled to center to score Parker. In the bottom of the fourth the Rangers hit a three-run homer to lead the Grizzlies 7-1.
 
Adams State responded in the top of the fifth with a leadoff double to left center by Baylie Fryar. Kyrah Archibald singled to center to score Fryar for the Grizzlies scoring their second run. Regis tacked on four more runs in the bottom of the fifth, getting the win over the Grizzlies, 11-2.
 
Haskins and Archibald led the Grizzlies in game one each going 1-2 with an RBI. Jade Garbiso led the Grizzlies in the circle, completing 4 innings facing 24 batters.
 
Game Two
Adams State added the first run on the board in the top of the second inning. With two outs, Fryar homered to left, giving the Grizzlies their first lead of the day. The Rangers responded in the bottom of the second with four runs on four hits.
 
With a one, two, three top and bottom of the third inning, The Grizzlies tied the game at four in the top of the fourth. Adams State got the inning started with a walk to Breck Smith. Haskins followed with an RBI double to right center to score Smith. Analiese Rodriguez followed up with a two-run homer to left field, to tie the game 4-4.
 
The Rangers went up 5-4 in the bottom of the fifth. The Rangers scored from a leadoff single up the middle and was brought in by a single to left. Regis went up 10-4 in the bottom of the sixth. With back to back double and single to center, the Rangers added five runs. The Rangers shut down the Grizzlies in the top of the seventh to end the game, 10-4.
 
The designated hitter, Rodriguez led the Grizzlies going 2-3 with 2 RBIs. In the circle for game two was Taylor Sandoval, completing 5 innings facing 29 batters.
 
Game Three
The Rangers got an early start in the bottom of the first inning of game three. The Rangers opened with a leadoff walk followed by back to back doubles to score two. Regis tacked on two more runs from a single and error in the outfield. The Rangers led the Grizzlies 4-0 at the end of the first. The Rangers added five more runs in the bottom of the second, four from a grand slam.
 
With a scoreless third, the Rangers tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the fourth, giving them an 11-0 lead over the Grizzlies. Adams State got on the board in the top of the fifth. The Grizzlies started the inning with a leadoff walk to Bailey Reid. Maya Ramos Moreno followed up with a single. Alyssa Berteaux-Solorzano came up to bat with an RBI single up the middle to score Reid. At the end of the inning, the Grizzlies fell 11-1.
 
The Grizzlies were led by Moreno and Beuteaux. Moreno went 1-1 in the game, with Berteaux getting the Grizzlies only RBI for the Grizzlies.
 
The game four finale between the Rangers has been postponed due to weather forecast conditions.
