BIRMINGHAM, Ala..—The Adams State Grizzlies Men's and Women's Track & Field finished strong on the final day of NCAA Division II National Championship meet at the Birmingham Crossplex as junior
Stephanie Cotter defended her mile championship from 2019.
The Adams State men's team finished in 35th place overall scoring six points. The women's team finished 16th with 12 points.
Ahmed Sado finished in eight in the men's mile earning an All-America spot as he posted a final time of 4:10.78.
In the men's 3,000-meters
Davonte Jett-Reynolds placed 13th as he posted a time of 8:28.99.
On the sprints side, adding to his collection was
Jonah Vigil as he gained another All-America standing in the men's 200-meters as he placed seventh with a time of 21.82.
Stephanie Cotter defended her national title as she won the women's mile with a time of 4:51.72 earning an All-America spot. Cotter won the title in 2019 and was scheduled to compete in the event in 2020 before the COVID-19 cancelation.
The Grizzlies will not have much time to celebrate as they will be back in action next week at the CSU Pueblo as they begin their outdoor track season.
