GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Adams State University Grizzlies are set to participate in the 2021 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Semifinals against Colorado Mesa University. The Grizzlies, the fifth seed, and Colorado Mesa, the first seed, are playing on Friday, March 5th, 2021, at 5:00 p.m. Since Mesa is the first seed, all the remainder of the games will be played in Brownson Arena.
In the last meeting, the Grizzlies lost 66-80 in overtime. The Grizzlies have yet to get a win against the Mavericks this season.

Grizzlies Playoff Run:
Adams State is looking to continue their playoff run to the RMAC Championship. On Tuesday, March 2nd, the Grizzlies upset the 4th seed, MSU Denver.
Destan Williams had a career-high of 35 points, with seven assists, three rebounds, and one steal. He and
Frederick Jackson, who had 12 points and five assists, led the Grizzlies. Adams State held the Roadrunners to only 32 points in the second half and hold their bench to four points.
The Grizzlies are looking to upset another team in their run for the championship. They need to win the tournament for an automatic bid into the NCAA Division II Championship Tournament.
About the Mavericks
Mesa is 19-1 overall and went 18-1 in RMAC regular season play. The Mavericks are on a current eight-game winning streak, with their most recent win against Chadron State College, 67-52. They went into the playoffs ranked as number one so they will have home games for the rest of the playoffs.
Ethan Menzies led the Mavericks in their playoff win against Chadron. He had a double-double, scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds. Behind him, was Blaise Threatt with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Menzies leads the team with averaging 16.1 points and Georgie Dancer follows behind with an average of 13 points.
