TOKYO—Adams State University's
Eilish Flanagan's track and field season will culminate as she officially competes in the 2020 Summer Olympics on Saturday, July 31 at 6:40 p.m. (MST) at the Japan National Stadium.
Flanagan, who is one of 45 athletes qualified for the event, will race in one of three heats of 15. Saturday's event will mark the fourth appearance of the event as it has been in every Olympics since 2008.
Flanagan enters with a No. 55 world ranking as she posted her season and personal best time of 9:40.68 back on May 7, 2021, when she won the event at the Oregon Twilight at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Flanagan's time in the NCAA Division II record in the event.
