ALAMOSA, Colo. — The Adams State University Men's basketball team will return to Plachy Hall this weekend as they look to grow their winning streak. The Grizzlies will have their hands full with No. 12 ranked Regis on Friday night and Colorado School of Mines on Saturday.

On Saturday, the Grizzlies played Fort Lewis and it was a very intense game from the jump. Nikolas Lange went 4-of-7 from three leading the team in points with 21 points.
Jordan Notch went perfect from the free throw line going 5-of-5, finishing with 16 points.
Kolby Walker had 14 points going perfect from the three with 4-of-4.
The Grizzlies ended up going into overtime where
Malik Moore took control and dominated the overtime with the first five points for the Grizzlies. Adams State ended up winning by one point with a final score 90-89.

Regis saw their 14-game winning streak snapped on Saturday by Colorado Mesa University. The Mavericks took down the Rangers in Denver by a score of 86-80. The Rangers had not lost since they fell to Lubbock Christian on Nov. 12, 2021 by a score of 83-56. Regis enters in second place in the RMAC with a 14-2 overall record and a 9-1 RMAC record.
Colorado Mines enters the weekend with a 9-7 overall record and a 7-5 conference record in fifth place after a Wednesday night affair with New Mexico Highlands. The Orediggers saw 41 points off the bench as Justin Engesser broke out for 16 and Kai Barr notched his first career double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
The Mines-Adams State series dates back to just after World War II with 161 previous meetings, and the two have met at least once in every season since 1946. ASU leads 90-71 but Mines has won five straight and 10 of the last 11; last year they played twice with Mines winning both games handily including a 68-48 blowout in Alamosa where Brendan Sullivan scored his 1,000th career point among 17 and Kobi Betts led the way with 22.
This weekend's games will be the annual Make-A-Wish games so ASU Athletics asks that fans bring spare change to donate.
The Grizzlies will be back on the road again next weekend as they head to South Dakota. The first game they will play will be against Black Hills State University Friday, February 4th at 7:30 p.m. They will then travel to Chadron State to play the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 5th.
