DURANGO, Colo. - Coming off a win last weekend against the Mountaineers the Grizzlies came out this weekend hard against the Skyhawks. Ending the first half 0-0. However, after an unfortunate call on the refs Fort Lewis College was able to score off a penalty kick giving them a 0-1 lead. The Grizzlies continued to fight but were unable to score ending the game 0-1.
The Skyhawks only goal came from Hannah Paschke in the 63
rd minute from a penalty kick.
This was a very physical game for both the Skyhawks and the Grizzlies. Throughout the game there was three yellow cards given. In the 33
rd minute Fort Lewis #8 McKenna Ford was given a yellow card shortly followed by the Grizzlies #10
Brianna Johnson. Lastly, Grizzlies #15
Emily Ibsen received a yellow card in the 48
th minute. Overall, both teams had 12 fouls in the game.
The Grizzlies will be returning home this upcoming Friday playing against Black Hills South Dakota.
