PORTALES, N.M.—The Grizzlies traveled down to Portales, New Mexico for a nine-inning game on Saturday against Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds. The Grizzlies have another nine-inning game tomorrow.
Game 1: Grizzlies 10- Greyhound 4
After going scoreless in the first inning, the Grizzlies got on the board first putting up three runs in the top of the second inning.
Ramon Ramirez doubled to score the first run of the game and then Cedric Reynaud had a two-run single. The Greyhounds scored two runs in the bottom of the second inning and tied the game with a run in the bottom of the third. The Grizzlies then scored seven unanswered runs. Four of the runs came in the top of the fourth inning which included a two-run double by
Mike Bathauer. The Grizzlies scored another run in the top of the fifth inning and two runs in the top of the seventh inning. The Greyhounds scored their fourth run in the bottom of the ninth inning. Cedric Reynaud and
Ramon Ramirez lead the Grizzlies with three hits each.
On the mound,
Alfredo Villa started for the Grizzlies. He threw six innings giving up three runs on six hits with one walk and ten strikeouts.
Anthony Bleggi picked up his first save of the year throwing three innings with two strikeouts.
