BASE | Rangers complete sweep of Grizzlies

DENVER, Colo.—The Grizzlies finished up their series against Regis University today with a doubleheader.
Game 1: Rangers 6, Grizzlies 4
The Grizzlies opened up the game with a solo homerun to left field by Nathan Heild. The Rangers then scored two runs in the bottom of the third inning with a two-run home run. The Grizzlies tied up the game with a sacrifice fly by Ryan Downs. The Rangers then answered with three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Chase Dixon hit a two run home run to left center field to cut the lead to one run before the Rangers scored another run in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Cutter Smith got the start for the Grizzlies throwing four innings. He gave up five runs on six hits and four strikeouts.

Game 2: Rangers 19, Grizzlies 11
The Rangers started out the game by putting up five runs in the bottom of the first inning which included a grand slam. The Rangers added seven more runs in the bottom of the second inning and three runs in the bottom of the third inning. The Grizzlies got on the board with a single that scored a run by Colton Goldfarb. The Grizzlies added four more runs in the top of the fifth inning which included a three run homerun by Mike Bathauer to left center field. The Rangers then answered with two runs in the bottom of the fifth with a two run homerun to left center field. The Rangers also added on two more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. The Grizzlies rallied late putting up six runs in the top of the seventh inning. Colton Goldfarb had his second double of the game with scored a run, Jace Wytulka singled which platted two runs, Chase Dixon, Brody Bettis and Thomas Lyall all had singles in the inning to score a run.

Jamison Fuentes started for the Grizzlies today and only threw an inning accounting for nine runs, walking four and striking out one.

The Grizzlies will take on Colorado State University Pueblo for their home opener next week starting on Friday.
