ALAMOSA, Colo.— The Grizzlies finished their series against the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs today with a double header consisting of a nine-inning game and a seven-inning game. The Mountain Lions won the games, 13-12 and 11-3.
Game 1: Mountain Lions 13, Grizzlies 12
The Grizzlies started off the game with two runs in the bottom of the first inning with a solo homerun by
Matt Bathauer to right center field and a single by
Orlando Romero to plate Cedric Reynaud. The Grizzlies then scored two more runs in bottom of the second inning with a two-run homerun by
Ryan Downs to left center.
The Mountain Lions got on the board with one run in the top of the third inning. The Grizzlies responded in the bottom of the third with a bases loaded hit by pitch to plate a run and a double by
Ryan Downs to score two more runs.
The Mountain Lions hit a solo homerun in the top of the fourth inning.
Chase Hiatt responded in the bottom of the fourth with a single to plate
Jace Wytulka and
Mike Bathauer. The Mountains Lions responded with four runs in the top of the fifth inning.
Orlando Romero hit a solo homerun in the bottom of the sixth inning for the Grizzlies.
The Mountains Lions went onto score three runs in the top of the seventh inning and again in the eight eighth inning.
Orlando Romero hit his second solo home run of the game in the bottom of the seventh inning.
The Mountain Lions then scored another run in the top of the ninth inning. The Grizzlies plated one run in the bottom of the ninth with a single by
Jace Wytulka to plate Cedric Reynaud. The Grizzlies has the winning run on first base before falling short.
The Grizzlies started right-handed pitcher
Ty Addington. He threw three innings giving up one run, with zero walks and five strikeouts.
Cesar Loma was handed the loss for the Grizzlies.
Game 2: Mountain Lions 11 Grizzlies 3
The Mountain Lions started the game with two runs in top of the first inning. They then added on more run in each the third and the fourth inning. The Grizzlies got on the board with a solo homerun by Cedric Reynaud in the bottom of the fourth inning. The Mountain Lions then scored four runs in the top of the fifth inning and a three-run homerun in the sixth inning.
The Grizzlies plated two runs in the bottom of the seventh with a double by
Colton Goldfarb to plate
Mike Bathauer and a bases loaded walk by
Thomas Lyall to score Bordy Bettis.
Getting his first start of the year for the Grizzlies was right-handed pitcher Peyton Brown. He was handed the loss for the Grizzlies throwing four innings giving up seven runs with one walk and two strikeouts.

The Grizzlies will travel up to Golden, Colorado to take on Colorado School of Mines for a four-game series next week. Their first game will be Friday night under the lights. That will be a nine-inning game starting at 6pm.
