Alfredo Villa continues to bring in the accolades as he was named to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Baseball South Central Region Second Team as announced by the association on Wednesday morning.
Villa, who made history by being the first First Team All-RMAC selection since the baseball program was resurrected in 2013, was selected to the Second Team by votes among the South Central region Sports Information Directors.
Villa has a stellar senior season as he made and started 11 games this season where he tossed 72 2/3 innings and finished with a 3.72 ERA. His strong showing on the mound netted him a Grizzly record six complete games with 72 strikeouts. Villa ranks in the top five in the RMAC in ERA (third), opposing batting average (.237; second), strikeouts (fourth), wins (tied for second), while leading the conference in innings pitched.
