ALAMOSA, Colo. --- Regis University slipped away with a 2-1 win against Adams State University this Sunday afternoon at Adams State Soccer Field. Closing the first weekend of Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play.
After defending their home turf against the Rangers for the first half of the game, the Grizzlies fell short in the 46
th minute resulting in a 0-1 lead for the Rangers (3-4-1). However, the Grizzlies kept fighting and was able to score off a free kick in the 66
th minute tying the game 1-1. Unfortunately, the Rangers were given the same opportunity and was able to score off a free kick in the 73
rd minute resulting in a 1-2 lead to end the game.
The Rangers first goal came from Natalie Bunch. Followed by the Rangers top scorer Kelby Kuo and assisted by Claire Faulkner. While
Karlee Caballero scored her first goal for the 2022-2023 season. The Rangers and the Grizzlies kept up with each other with both teams having six shots and three of them on goal.
Adams State Grizzlies will be traveling to Lakewood, Colo. on Friday, Sept. 23 to play against Colorado Christen University. Following another away game at Gunnison, Colo. To play against Western Colorado University on Sept. 25.
