ALAMOSA, Colo. – Once down by 14, the Adams State University Grizzly women's basketball team was able to rally and pull off a 64-60 win over the No. 16-ranked Colorado School of Mines Orediggers here inside Plachy Hall on Friday night.
The Grizzlies erupted for 42, second-half points to earn their 19th win of the season. ASU is 15-6 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. CSM falls to 21-5, 17-4 in conference play. With the win the Grizzlies clinched a RMAC Tournament spot for the first time since the 2010-2011 season. The game will be played on Tuesday, Feb. 28, at 6:00 p.m. inside Plachy Hall. The official bracket will be released on Saturday evening after all conference games conclude.
ASU was 12-for-26 from the floor in the second half, while the Orediggers made 10 of their 29 field-goal attempts in the second half.
Harmanie Dominguez scored 14 points to lead the Grizzlies.
Darlisha Reed added 11. Sammy Van Sickle led Mines with 14 points, including three baskets from 3-point range. Jessica Rios tossed in 10, including a pair from beyond the 3-point line.
