TF | 25 Grizzlies selected to compete at Division II Championship Meet

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. –Adams State University's Indoor Track and Field program has qualified 25 student-athletes for the 2024 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships. The championships are scheduled to take place on Friday and Saturday, March 8-9, at the Robert W. Plaster Center in Pittsburg, Kan.

The announcement was made Tuesday afternoon by the NCAA Division II Track & Field Committee.

The men will send ten student-athletes, competing across five individual running events and the distance medley relay. Meanwhile, the women's team will feature 15 student-athletes participating in four individual running events, as well as the 4x400 meter relay and the distance medley relay.

Student-athletes qualified for the championships by reaching a provisional standard established for each event and by being amongst the top athletes on the national performance lists in their respective events.

Impressively, the Grizzlies are sending eight of the 20 qualifiers in the women's 3,000-meter run and five runners will be aiming for the 5,000-meter title. Gracie Hyde holds the top seed in the mile and aforementioned 3,000-meter run. Brianna Robles is the top seed in the 5,000-meter run and the distance medley relay's mark leads the pack.

Jonah Vigil and David Cardenas enter the second seed in the 400-meter and 800-meter runs, respectively while Miguel Coca and James Dunne hold the first and second spots in the mile. Coca also  leads the 3,000-meter run while Romain Legendre leads the 5,000-meter run. The Grizzlies also have the top seed in the distance medley relay.
