Hyde & Legendre Named RMAC Track Athletes of the Week

Colorado Springs, Colo. — The Adams State men's and women's track teams were each represented in this week's RMAC Runner of the Week awards. Gracie Hyde was the women's runner of the week, while Raomine Legendre was the men's.

Men's Track Athlete of the Week: Romain Legendre | Adams State | Jr. | Carpentras, France

Legendre had a stellar weekend for the Grizzlies, as they competed in the New Mexico Spring Invitational over the weekend. In his outdoor season debut, the junior ran in the 1,500-meter race, taking home a second-place finish in a field of 16. His altitude-adjusted time of 3:40.84 is the NCAA Division II leading mark this season and the best in the RMAC by eight seconds.

Women's Track Athlete of the Week: Gracie Hyde | Adams State | Gr. | Benton, Ark.

Hyde opened up her 2024 outdoor campaign with a bang. The graduate student ran an eight second personal best in the 800 meter with an altitude-adjusted time of 2:04.43. Her new PR stands alone at the top of the NCAA Division II leaderboard this season, beating out second place by nearly three seconds. With an opening meet victory and NCAA DII provisional mark already under her belt in the outdoor season, Hyde is poised to make a splash this outdoor season.

The Grizzlies will be back in action on Friday, Mar. 29, as they head to Pueblo, Colo., to compete in the Chuck Haering Open Invitational hosted by Colorado State University Pueblo.
