New Orleans, LA – Racing their way to being ranked No. 1 and No. 6 in the country, Adams State's women's and men's cross country teams shine in the Week 1 USTFCCCA poll announced Wednesday.
The Adams State women's team dominated the 31st running of the Joe I. Vigil race on September 7, finishing 1-2-3-5-7 to score 18 points as a team, led by USTFCCCA Week 1 Runner of the Week Maggie McCleskey, who finished first in the race.
Not to be left behind, the men's cross country team finished sixth in the Week 1 team poll, accumulating 199 points after claiming the team championship at the 31st Joe I. Vigil race two weeks ago. With a 1-3-6-8-9 finish, they scored 27 team points.
The Grizzlies will race this weekend at the Metro State Roadrunner Invitational in Denver, Colo., where they will look to continue their success.
